Early NFL Odds
- 28 November 2006
Betongameday.com counts down the top five NFL games of the week. There are now just five weeks left in the regular season. Teams are are fighting for playoff spots, as well a playoff positioning, making these games fairly crucial.
1) Baltimore (+3) at Cincinnati
Baltimore is 9-2 and on top of the AFC North. They also want that first round bye in the playoffs. In Baltimore, the Ravens won this one 26-20.
2) Seattle (+3) at Denver
Seattle (7-4) won at home againstthe Packers - that saw the return of their quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck is the key to their playoff run, and he should improve as his knee gets better.
Denver Broncos are also 7-4, but they are hurting from their loss at Kansas City. Mike Shanahan has switched Jake Plummer with Jay Cutler. Cutler Cutler can play - but so close to the playoffs it could be a bad call to put in the rookie.
3) Dallas (-3.5) at NY Giants
New York is 6-5 after losing a tight one at Tennessee. The Giants blew a 21-0 lead in the 4th quarter of that game. Eli Manning is down at the moment. New York also have injuries to contend with.
Dallas is 7-4 and has won three straight games. They have also won four out of five games since Tony Romo took over the QB duties.
4) Jacksonville (+1.5) at Miami
The Jags is 6-5 after a 27-24 loss at Buffalo. The road is proving tough for the Jags with a 1-4 record. However, Jacksonville did play well in Philly a few weeks ago - they just need the home games to winners from now on in.
Miami is 5-6, but has won four in a row to keep their playoff hopes alive. Ronnie Brown is out but the Dolphins believe their run can continue. New England are the visiting team next week.
5) San Francisco (+7) at New Orleans
The San Francisco 49ers are supposed to be terrible this year, but they stand at a respectable at 5-6. The 49ers three game winning streak ended at St. Louis (20-17) last Sunday, but they have shown that they can tough it out on the road.
New Orleans is 7-4 after beating the Falcons for the second time this season. The win ties the Saints for the second best record in the conference with the Cowboys and the Seahawks. New Orleans has dropped their last two home games, so they must restore home field advantage this week.
