Bleeping Football

A soccer ball containing a microchip that bleeps when it crosses the goal line will be tested at this year's under-17 world championship. The IFA, which makes the rules for world soccer, agreed to the trial on Saturday at its annual general meeting.

Supersonics Not So Super...

About the only good thing Seattle did offensively against the Houston Rockets was shoot free throws...but that was the difference in the game!

The Fixer

The referee who took bribes to fix German soccer games was arrested and charged with fraud on Saturday and investigators said that more people and matches could be involved than had previously been thought. Robert Hoyzer was charged with eight counts of fraud. Slip Sliding Away...

Patriots coach Bill Belichick wasn't happy with the team's practice facility at Bartram Trail High School, even though the NFL had donated more than $750,000 to upgrade the field and introduce new grass and drainage systems.
"We were kind of out there on an ice rink today," Belichick said of the rain moistened field,

"It's slick. We're not even going full speed and guys are falling all over the place..."
You'd think the Patriots would be happy with that after playing at Foxboro!
