49ers Lean On Rookies
Mike Nolan says the San Francisco 49ers will use the final five games to sort themselves out for 2006. So nothing new there. The potentially great draft class has not lived up to the hype.
Top pick quarterback Alex Smith has played just four games and really struggling in two of them. David Baas, first pick of the second round, has yet to make any contribution.
But the 49ers are going to use their younger players a lot more, starting this week against Arizona at Monster Park. Smith is back in the lineup and Baas and Snyder will be on the starting offensive line.
For football gamblers, the 49ers are gettng +3 on pointspread.
